Stories of our journey

Welcome to the reason why we have set up this homepage – we want to let you be part of our sailing voyage on our Kelly Peterson 44. Be it with good or bad news, if possible we’ll try to keep you updated with new sailing blog updates on a weekly basis about our experiences we make along the way.

Start here from the beginning…

We’re Back!

We are in La Paz! This means that we’ve sailed all the way down the Sea of Cortez. Together with our self-refitted boat. Crazy, isn’t it?

Sleepless Nights at Anchor

Between making headway, relaxing and enjoying ourselves, we also suffer from sleepless nights at anchor.

Hiding from the Blows

Sailing the north wind season in the Sea of Cortez has its perks but also its downsides. We’re hiding from strong winds!

Our Eventful First Anchorage

The engine was running again, so we left Puerto Escondido to anchor for the first time with Milagros. But it was anything but quiet.

Stranded in Paradise

Well, here we are. Stranded in our new hood that is Puerto Escondido. Could be a lot worse tough, since it’s pretty darn nice around here. Maybe we’ll move in!

Our Maiden Voyage – a Hell of a Ride

We finally manage to leave Puerto Peñasco. But our maiden voyage with Milagros turns from champagne sailing into a hell of a ride.

It’s Not Happening! We’re Not Heading Out!

We have had the worst week since we arrived in Mexico. From time to time we really ask ourselves how much one can bear.

It’s happening!! We’re heading out!

The time has come! The 24th of January 2022 marks our departure from Puerto Peñasco. In the days before things of course go a bit haywire again. But mostly in a good way.

A Special Turn Of The Year

We get the full programme over the turn of the year. We are preparing Milagros and ourselves for our first big trip. We’re also going on a road trip and my parents are coming to visit.
