Und wir gehen bei einem unserer wichtigsten Projekte den n\u00e4chsten Schritt. Nicht ohne ein paar Schrecksekunden. Freiheit bedeutet leider nicht, dass man nichts mehr \u201cmuss\u201d. Zwar haben wir alle Zeit der Welt, aber wir wollen nicht ewig auf dem staubigen Boatyard leben. Am liebsten w\u00fcrden wir sofort hier weg. Zumindest mal einwassern \u2013 weg vom Dreck, weg vom L\u00e4rm. Aber das geht nicht, da unser Schiff noch nicht fertig ist. Und wir m\u00fcssen noch eine ganze Menge Arbeiten erledigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-meeeeeh\">M\u00e4\u00e4\u00e4p<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Manchmal haben wir aber schlichtweg keine Lust darauf. Denn die Arbeiten machen nicht immer so viel Spass, wie man erwarten k\u00f6nnte. Obwohl uns unser neuer Lebensstil gef\u00e4llt, bedeutet das nicht automatisch, dass uns jeder Aspekt Freude bereitet. Wenn sich die verhockte Schraube auch nach dem f\u00fcnften Mal erhitzen, draufhauen und schmieren nicht l\u00f6sen l\u00e4sst, reichts dann auch mal. Zig Offerten f\u00fcr die neue Takelage einholen und miteinander vergleichen. Die Hitze, der Staub, das Unwissen, die vielen M\u00f6glichkeiten, Abh\u00e4ngigkeiten von anderen Leuten \u2013 all dies erschwert uns die Arbeit zus\u00e4tzlich. Wir haben damit begonnen, uns auf Arbeiten zu konzentrieren, die nur auf dem Boatyard sauber erledigt werden k\u00f6nnen. Alles andere wird hintenangestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-could-vs-should\">D\u00fcrfen vs. M\u00fcssen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mit unserer Freiheit kommt eben auch die Verantwortung. Denn wir alleine sind f\u00fcr die Planung, die Ausf\u00fchrung und das Ergebnis verantwortlich. Wenn wir blau machen, erledigt sich die Arbeit nicht von selbst. K\u00f6nnen, wollen, d\u00fcrfen, sollen, m\u00fcssen \u2013 darum dreht sich alles. Wir k\u00f6nnten 12+ Stunden am Tag arbeiten, k\u00e4men schneller hier weg, aber w\u00e4ren daf\u00fcr vermutlich psychisch und physisch ausgelaugt. Wir k\u00f6nnen auch nur 5 Stunden arbeiten, br\u00e4uchten dann doppelt so lange, aber wir w\u00e4ren vielleicht entspannt. Niemand sagt uns, wie viele Stunden am Tag wir arbeiten sollen. Wir m\u00fcssen selbst f\u00fcr uns entscheiden, wie viel ok ist. Und das auch akzeptieren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-maximise\">Maximierung!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hier kommt aber die Pr\u00e4gung aus dem Wirtschaftsleben voll zur Geltung und f\u00fchrt dann teilweise auch zu einem schlechten Gewissen \u2013 v\u00f6llig unangebracht. Ich weiss, dass ich mehr arbeiten k\u00f6nnte. Aber bin ich hier, um zu maximieren? Machen wir nicht auch deswegen diese Reise, um eben genau nicht mehr solchen Denkmustern zu folgen bzw. folgen zu m\u00fcssen? Sich Zeit nehmen zu k\u00f6nnen, um Nichts zu tun. Eine Siesta zu machen, weil man jetzt eben gerade will. Selbst zu entscheiden, wann und wie etwas erledigt wird. Weiter, schneller, h\u00f6her ist nicht n\u00f6tig. Aber dann kommt wieder die (von uns selbst gesetzte) Deadline. Wir wollen im September in Wasser. Und die Gedankenspirale beginnt von vorne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-are-we-doing-this-to-ourselves\">Warum tun wir uns das an?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir haben keine Chefs mehr, die uns sagen was wir tun sollen \u2013 wir haben jetzt Milagros, die uns den Takt vorgibt. Und ignorieren sollten wir sie nicht. Wir k\u00f6nnten es zwar, jedoch w\u00fcrden wir uns damit nur Gl\u00fcck von morgen kaufen. Ein kleiner, vernachl\u00e4ssigter Unterhaltsjob kann sich zu einer Katastrophe entwickeln. Sowas wie der Zinseszins-Effekt existiert auch bei Booten. Hier gleich ein kleines Beispiel von aufgeschobener Wartung an den P\u00fcttingen aus der Milagros-Praxis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-we-voluntarily-dismast-the-boat\">Wir entmasten uns freiwillig<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Der grosse Tag war endlich da, und wir legten unseren Mast. Dazu sind die Arbeiter vom Cabrales Boatyard mit einem Kran anger\u00fcckt, den sie etwa um die Mitte des Masts befestigt haben. Als der Mast nun durch den Kran gehalten wurde, konnten wir die Stage und Wanten an Deck abschrauben. Zum Gl\u00fcck kam uns <a href=\"http:\/\/www.svliquid.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marc von SV Liquid<\/a> zur Hilfe (physisch und mental), denn der 18 Meter Alukoloss ist sehr beeindruckend. Aber als wir die Stage und Wanten gel\u00f6st hatten, und sich der Mast etwas zur Seite gebogen hatte, war auch den erfahrenen Arbeitern nicht mehr ganz wohl. Nach dieser Schrecksekunde beeilten wir uns, den Masten auf vorbereitete S\u00e4geb\u00f6cke herunterzulassen. Der Kran stand etwas zu nahe, so mussten wir mit den Salingen (Umlenkpunkte f\u00fcr die Wanten) zwischen Milagros, dem Nachbarschiff und dem Kran ziemlich zirkeln. P\u00fcttings sind dazu da, um die Stage und Wanten (Drahtseile, die den Masten an Ort und Stelle halten) am Schiff zu befestigen. Es wirken darauf also enorme Kr\u00e4fte, wenn das Boot gesegelt wird. Der Wind dr\u00fcckt in die Segel, die wiederum Druck auf den Masten aus\u00fcben, der \u00fcber die Stage und Wanten Kr\u00e4fte auf die P\u00fcttings \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt. Die P\u00fcttings werden mit mehreren grossen Schrauben am Schiff befestigt. Es w\u00e4re an sich keine grosse Sache, ab und zu die Wandverschalung abzumontieren (notabene pro P\u00fctting 4-8 Schrauben) und einen Blick auf den Zustand der P\u00fcttings zu werfen. Bei uns war zum Beispiel klar ersichtlich, dass sich an gewissen Stellen Rost gebildet hatte. Es musste Wasser bei der Deckdurchf\u00fchrung eingedrungen sein. stelle sich nun vor, dass alle 5 Schrauben eines P\u00fcttings angerostet sind. Und dann kommt w\u00e4hrend dem Segeln ein unvorhergesehener Windstoss, vielleicht auch noch mit zu viel Besegelung, und reisst ruckartig am Mast. Dann k\u00f6nnten diese Schrauben zerbrechen, das P\u00fctting wird rausgerissen und das Boot ist im Nu entmastet. Man h\u00e4tte aber einfach sich die Schrauben anschauen und sie f\u00fcr etwa 1 CHF pro St\u00fcck ersetzen k\u00f6nnen. Alle daran befestigten Dinge mussten entfernt werden: Salinge, Wanten, Stage, Lichter, etc.  Das ist einfacher gesagt, als getan. Denn der Mast ist aus Aluminium, alles andere aus rostfreiem Stahl. Wenn die beiden Metalle nicht voneinander isoliert werden oder sich die Isolation \u00fcber die Jahre aufgel\u00f6st hat (wie bei uns) , reagiert das Aluminium mit Korrosion. Und dann steckt das Zeug richtig fest. Die zwei Metalle verhalten sich unterschiedlich, wenn sie erhitzt werden. Deshalb kann das in Kombination mit einem gezielten Hammerschlag helfen, die beiden voneinander zu l\u00f6sen. Und nat\u00fcrlich setzen wir \u2013 wenn m\u00f6glich \u2013 auch pure Gewalt ein. Spoiler: Wir konnten immer noch nicht alles entfernen... An gewissen Stellen bl\u00e4tterte Farbe ab, insbesondere rund um Stellen, die mit anderen Metallen in Ber\u00fchrung kamen und deshalb das Aluminium darunter korrodierte. So hat Dave zum Beispiel einen unserer undichten Chromstahltanks mit dem Winkelschleifer St\u00fcck f\u00fcr St\u00fcck rausgeschnitten. Wir sind dabei auf unsere beiden Klimaanlagen angewiesen. Ohne geht gar nicht. Das durften wir vor kurzem am eigenen Leib erfahren, denn wir hatten Stromausfall. Um 14 Uhr. Fast sofort begannen sich Schweissperlen auf unseren Stirnen zu bilden. Wir fl\u00fcchteten erstmal zum einkaufen und hofften, dass der Strom wieder zur\u00fcck ist, wenn wir es auch sind. Leider nein. Deshalb installierten wir notfallm\u00e4ssig einige Ventilatoren. Wir hatten uns schon auf eine ungem\u00fctliche Nacht eingestellt, als um 19 Uhr der Strom wieder da war. W\u00e4hrend es uns vor allem mit Energielosigkeit traf, ging es anderen ziemlich besch*****. Es stellte sich heraus, dass es das Norovirus war und in ganz Puerto Pe\u00f1asco w\u00fctete. Die Zeitungen berichteten, dass es sich \u00fcber den Staub und darin enthaltene F\u00e4kalien in der Luft \u00fcbertrug. *w\u00fcrg*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-curbed-euphoria\">Niedergeschmettert<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/milagros.ch\/de\/eine-ueberraschung-in-la-paz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wie schon in fr\u00fcheren Posts berichtet<\/a>, befanden wir uns im Covid Impflimbo. Es war an einem Sonntag, als Marc von SV Liquid auf Facebook entdeckte, dass in der darauffolgenden Woche in Puerto Pe\u00f1asco eine Covid Impfkampagne f\u00fcr die 18 \u2013 35-J\u00e4hrigen stattfand. Leider wurde unsere Euphorie sofort niedergeschmettert, als sich herausstellte, dass f\u00fcr die Online-Registrierung die mexikanische Personenidentifikationsnummer, sowas wie die Schweizer AHV-Nummer, ben\u00f6tigt wurde. Wir haben keine. Salvador, der Yardmanager, telefonierte daraufhin mit einigen Leuten und schickte uns mit dem Namen eines Doktors und der Cabrales Stromrechnung f\u00fcr die Wohnsitzbest\u00e4tigung zur Impflokalit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-big-surprise\">Die grosse \u00dcberraschung<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Die Crew von <a href=\"http:\/\/saltymatey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SV Pablo<\/a> ging als Versuchskaninchen voraus und war erfolgreich! Die Euphorie war wieder da. Von keinerlei Hoffnung auf eine Impfung zu einer reellen Chance innerhalb von 24 Stunden \u2013 was f\u00fcr ein Gl\u00fcck! Wir stellten uns also bei der Schlange an. Als wir keine Terminreservation vorweisen konnten, wurden wir zu einem Tisch eskortiert, bei dem unsere Personalien aufgenommen wurden. Kurze Zeit und ein paar Unterschriften sp\u00e4ter sassen wir in der Warteschlange f\u00fcr den Einmalimpfstoff von Johnson&amp;Johnson. Wir konnten unser Gl\u00fcck kaum fassen. Die Nebenwirkungen wie Kopfschmerzen, Gliederschmerzen und Sch\u00fcttelfrost nahmen wir gerne in Kauf. Denn die Impfung er\u00f6ffnete uns wieder neue M\u00f6glichkeiten. Die wichtigste von allen: f\u00fcr die Hochzeit meines Bruders konnten wir ohne Quarant\u00e4ne zur\u00fcck in die Schweiz reisen.
